"Hope makes the world go round" - In a world of chaos where there're lots of dreams, goals, and fun - Hope is the order that makes us strive and fight for everything we want to do. During my 5 years (Covid sucks, I know) as a student in KGP, I got to explore many avenues of life through my love for literature, fine-arts, puzzles, ethics, and efforts. I found that there are two essences that stay permanent in our lives – 'Learning’ and 'Living’. These are the two never-ending processes that goes on till the show is over. This made me appreciate different pivots of my life be it my parents, my teachers, my hall, my friends, my teams, most importantly my support systems. All I’d say for now is keep exploring, keep putting efforts and not be afraid of the chaos of life. After all, hope does make the world go round. :)

L’s Taken

3

Regrets I Have

  • Spending my 3rd year at home due to lockdown. I missed out on a lot of opportunities in academia, hall and many other avenues.
  • Having an ignorance towards a few life matters. Situations would have been quite different with the help of guidance.
  • Not being able to pass on all the legacies, virtues and ethics that I had learned from my seniors. People have changed post-lockdown valuing self-importance over united and greater goals.

Things I Thought I'd Finish but Never Did

  • Naruto Shippuden, Zoo, & Manifest (I promise I’ll finish it Naveen :’) )
  • Inktober in my final year (Wish I had more help with my GC responsibilities)
  • My piled up list of Novels and Movies (Summer sorted :p)

1

Everyday L's Of Life

  • There’s only one – be humble. Always strive to do the right thing. Only then, take pride for having done the righteous, and for having followed your heart.

On the Bright Side

3

Things I'm Proud Of That You Won't See on a Resume

  • Family and Hometown: For making me humble, for inspiring me to explore and learn, for teaching me the value of efforts.
  • Hall: For teaching that home is not about a place, it’s about the people. It’s about people striving for each-other.
  • A crazy group of individuals: For making me who I am today, for giving me the essence of friendship, love and ethics.

5

Things I Have Learnt That Will Still Matter in 10 Years

  • You stop living, the day you cease learning.
  • Ultimate peace comes from putting efforts for whatever you love.
  • You should always be grateful for everything you have.
  • Service before self is only possible if you first take care of your 'self'.
  • It is not selfish if you prioritize self-love.

2

The Stressful Times I Overcame Valiantly

  • Covid: The first bout, which happened during the second wave, was very painful and threatening both to me and my family. Living in railway quarters my isolation wasn’t ideal and was risky for my family to prevent further contamination. I’m grateful for my family for being my constant support.
  • Depression: Even today we feel apprehensive to approach a topic so sensitive yet important for the well-being of an individual. I’m really thankful to my support systems who were always there for me regardless their lockdown, family or personal issues, placements, inter-iit practices and other high staked interests.

Small Joys and Memories I Cherish

  • The well-planned and timed sarcasms, taunts and ironical gifts my Heplaaa gang gave.
  • The long and endless discourses on literature, various arts, philosophy, ethics, politics, food and cats.
  • The one-taps and outplays in Valorant, the sacrifices in chess, the moves in basketball.
  • The particular scenes, smells and tastes that replay when I hear some of my old favourites.
  • The times when seniors gave unexpected treats and juniors gave unexpected gifts.

5

Things I Am Looking Forward to in the Future

  • To never stop reading and to creating my own library of diverse literature and classics.
  • To travelling across the world, exploring the places, languages, fashion and cultures.
  • To trying all the delicious food items across the world.
  • To developing something that would enable the ease of living for the common people.
  • To never giving up and never stop putting efforts.
